Follow the Light Series
Follow the Light Series
I’ve always been drawn to light, especially that golden hour light. The kind that doesn’t just hit your eyes, it moves through you. It’s a feeling that hits me so deeply that I feel like I have to paint it.
The more time I spend in nature, the less I notice detail. Everything starts to soften. If I squint my eyes, I don’t really see objects anymore, I just see color and light blending together. That’s what I wanted to capture with this series.
There are hints of landscapes and flowers in these paintings, but they’re not meant to be exact. They’re softer, more blurred, more about color than anything else. It’s really about the feeling of being there, not the place itself.
I wanted these to feel like somewhere you can rest. Somewhere your body can relax a little. Somewhere that feels quiet and safe.
The light in these paintings isn’t overwhelming. It doesn’t take over everything. It shows up in smaller ways, breaking through, sitting next to the dark. That feels more honest to me. Life isn’t all light. Sometimes there’s more dark than light, and the beauty is in how they exist together.
This series is about that balance, the light, the dark, and everything in between.
